Are these arguments convincing enough?
You might want to know why everybody is not planting Jatropha trees.
Good question. We do not understand either.
The main reason is that Jatropha needs two to three years to develop its seed which can be used for biofuel production.
In our fast changing and short term oriented world, it is difficult to find relatively large funds to establish such a long-term plantation.
Some financial risks are involved which is deterring investors from investing in Jatropha projects.
However we are convinced that the fight against climate change, desertification and poverty in Africa are of the utmost importance and we hope that you share our vision and commitment.
